Nursery & Everyday Routines

This category covers products that help families organize a nursery and carry out everyday care. Explain the particular task the product serves and the conditions in which it is intended to be used.

The review uses online product information and supporting documents. No samples are required, and applying is free.

What belongs in this category

Examples include nursery storage, care organizers, diaper pails and equipment used in routine care. Describe the product itself rather than an entire room or collection.

When a product has several functions, identify its main purpose and provide instructions for each function included in the application. The category does not automatically cover every accessory or configuration sold alongside it.

Check specialist uses first

Products involving infant sleep, restraint, monitoring or medical functions need a scope check. These uses may require product-specific information and supporting documents beyond the ordinary application materials.

Placing a product in the Nursery category does not establish that it is suitable for sleep or that it prevents a health or safety risk. Use the manufacturer’s intended purpose and current instructions when describing the product.

Information to prepare

Include:

  • The exact product name, model, dimensions and configurations.
  • Intended users and any age, weight, size or use limits.
  • Assembly, installation and attachment instructions, where relevant.
  • Operating, cleaning and maintenance instructions.
  • Current packaging, warnings and product labels.
  • Photographs showing the complete product and relevant components.
  • Information about power, batteries, connected functions or accessories, if applicable.
  • Product-specific documents supporting important claims or applicable requirements.

Show how the customer can identify the version being submitted. If a product requires installation, provide the complete installation document, including restrictions on where it can be used.

How the information is reviewed

The documents should let a caregiver identify the intended use, setup and limitations. For a storage item, this may include mounting or placement instructions. For a powered device, it may include operating limits and maintenance information. These details are considered together, rather than inferred from a photograph.

The review does not include inspection of a nursery, observation of infant use or laboratory testing.

Find a product record

A published record identifies the recognized model and its review scope. Check the description and any stated limits alongside the current product instructions.

Submit an application or ask a scope question

If the product falls within scope and the materials are ready, you can apply directly. For a scope question, include the product name, intended use and official product link so the question can be considered against the actual product.

A complete application normally takes about two months to review from confirmation of complete materials.
