A receipt and a complete application are different

The submission receipt confirms that the form and submitted materials have been saved. The next check confirms product identity, scope and whether the necessary information is available.

If something is missing, you receive a request identifying the information needed. Once complete materials are confirmed, the application moves to In review and the estimated decision date is shown.

When more information is needed

A request for information explains the question, the relevant document or claim and what would help resolve it. Reply through the private application page so the response stays with the application.

If waiting for information affects the review, the estimated date is updated and the reason is recorded. The whole review period is not silently restarted each time a document is added.

Tell application support if you cannot provide an item or need to correct a product detail. Do not submit a second application simply to send a missing document.

What the statuses mean

Status What it means Your next step
Received The application is saved and its basic information is being checked. Keep the receipt and check for requests.
Information needed A specific detail, document or access arrangement needs a response. Open the request and provide the information or an explanation.
In review Complete materials have been accepted and are being considered. Check the estimated date and report relevant changes.
Decision issued A decision is available privately. Read the notice and its next steps.
Recognized The product has received recognition for the stated scope. Check the approved identity and access the free digital benefits.
Not selected The application has not received recognition. Read the notice; request review if there is a specific factual or procedural issue.
Outside scope The product or intended use cannot be considered within the applicable review scope. Read the scope explanation or ask a specific eligibility question.
Withdrawn The application has been withdrawn. Contact support if the withdrawal information needs correction.

A public award reference is issued for a recognized product. It does not provide access to private applications or evidence.

Decisions and the award year

The authorized applicant receives a decision notice and can read it in the private application area. Recognition applies to the identified product and scope.

The award year is the year the authorized decision is issued. An application submitted late in one year may receive a decision in the next year; its certificate and award mark use the decision year. There is no year-end deadline that guarantees an earlier award year.

If the estimated date changes

The application status records a revised estimate and the reason for the change. If the displayed estimate has passed and no update is available, send a status question with your private application reference.

An additional-information request or a timing change is not an indication of a favorable or unfavorable result.
