Submitting an application, providing supporting materials and receiving a decision are free. There is no payment step in the application.
You do not need to send a sample or make a donation. Applying does not guarantee recognition; the decision depends on the application and evidence.
Digital benefits are included
Recognized products receive the following at no charge:

| Digital award mark | Official digital artwork and permission to use it for the recognized product within the mark guidelines. |
| Public NPF registry record | A searchable record showing the approved product identity, recognized scope, year and current status. |
| Digital access and corrections | Access to the awarded digital files and applicable corrections to the approved identity or record. |
There is no annual digital license payment or paid renewal of these benefits. Use must remain within the recognized product scope and show the correct award year.
Physical items are optional
A trophy, printed certificate or physical labels may be ordered separately after recognition. A request leads to an itemized quote for the selected items, production, delivery and any applicable taxes.
The quote and proof are confirmed before an order proceeds. Requesting a quote does not require you to purchase.
Purchase choices do not affect recognition
Not ordering physical items has no effect on the result, digital certificate, award-mark permission or NPF record.
The same applies if an order is canceled, payment does not complete or a refund is issued. Physical orders are handled separately from review and cannot change an award decision.
There is no paid upgrade
The program does not offer paid award decisions, expedited recognition, mandatory recipient packages or paid placement in the public directory.
Buying a physical item does not extend the scope to additional products, change the award year or create a higher award level.
Keep use within the awarded scope
An unchanged recognized product may continue to use the approved digital mark within the guidelines. Keep the recorded award year in its accompanying statement and do not apply the mark to a new model.
Report material changes so their effect on the record can be considered. A materially different version can be submitted as a new application for free. Keeping a public record accurate does not depend on buying physical items.
Apply when your documents are ready
Applications are accepted throughout the year and reviewed online. A complete application normally takes about two months to review from confirmation of complete materials.
