Request a review of a decision.

Prepare:

• The private application reference and date of the decision notice.
• The specific finding, fact or step you believe needs review.
• The relevant document, page, link or message already associated with the application.
• An explanation of the error and the correction you are asking the reviewer to consider.
• Any necessary supporting information that clarifies the issue.

If the question concerns a document, identify its title and relevant page or section. If it concerns the procedure, identify the step and what occurred.

The review addresses the stated factual or procedural issue in the original application. It is not a new application for a redesigned product, revised formulation, new edition or substantially changed digital service.

A materially different product can be submitted as a new application at no charge. Do not use the decision-review form to carry an earlier decision forward to a new version.

The applicant’s identity and authority are verified before the private request is accepted. The request is checked against the time limit and review scope, and an appropriate authorized person considers the issue.

The acknowledgement explains the expected reply date or any information needed to set it. The original two-month application estimate does not automatically apply to a decision review.

The review outcome is recorded and communicated privately. If a change affects a recognized product, the certificate or public record is corrected through the applicable record process.

Open the application with the email used for submission. The request form is available for an eligible issued decision. If you cannot access that address or believe the displayed date is wrong, ask application support for help.

A request is confirmed only after it has been saved. The receipt identifies the application and review-request reference, and the private application area shows its status.

If an access link expires, request a new one using the application email. Private decision information is not sent to an unverified address.

The decision review is free. Ordering or not ordering physical recognition items has no effect on the review or its outcome.
