Products that can be considered

The application must identify a specific product, model, edition or version with a clear purpose for families. Provide enough current information to assess that product, including the intended users, use limits and market in which it is available or offered.

A brand name, general company profile or proposed concept without reviewable product information is not a substitute for a product application. Where a product has several functions, identify the uses you want considered and the documents that support each one.

Choose the main category

Use the product’s primary purpose to select one category. Additional functions can be described in the application.

Category Main scope
Feeding & Mealtime Feeding tools, tableware and food-storage products.
Baby Care Products for cleaning, changing and ordinary care.
Nursery & Everyday Routines Nursery organization and equipment used in daily routines.
Strollers & Travel Strollers, travel equipment and relevant accessories.
Carriers & On-the-go Carriers and products for carrying family essentials.
Play & Early Learning Toys, games, activities and learning resources.
Books & Family Reading Identified books, editions and reading resources.
Maternity & Postpartum Products for ordinary pregnancy and postpartum routines.
Family & Household Products with a defined purpose in family household tasks.
Apps & Parent Resources Identified apps, services and resources for families.

The category helps organize the review; it does not change the need for appropriate evidence.

Uses outside the standard scope

Medicines, supplements and products promoted primarily for diagnosis or treatment are outside the standard family-product scope. Food, medical nutrition and specialist health claims also need a scope check.

Ask before applying where the main purpose involves infant sleep, child restraint, monitoring, crash protection or another use requiring specialist assessment. The response will identify whether the product can be considered and which part of its scope can be reviewed. A scope response is not an award decision.

Conditions that must be met

The product’s identity and submitted evidence must be consistent. The applicant must disclose relevant recalls, material changes and known issues that affect the application.

An unresolved relevant recall, missing essential product-specific evidence, a material contradiction or an unsupported major claim can prevent recognition. Strengths elsewhere in the application cannot replace these conditions.

Provide the documents relevant to the product and market. There is no single certificate list that applies to every toy, book, app, carrier and care product.

Variants and later changes

State exactly which variants are included. Color differences may be considered together when the underlying materials, design, function and instructions are the same. Differences in size, ingredients, components, load limits, content or features may require separate consideration.

A substantial change after recognition must be reported. A materially different product or version may be submitted as a new application at no charge. Recognition of one model does not cover an entire range.

If the scope is unclear

Send the product name, main use, official link, intended users and the exact claim or function that raises the question. This gives application support enough information to answer a specific eligibility question.

Prepare the application

If the product meets these conditions, you can proceed directly. Review is online, with no sample shipment or application fee. Gather the materials for the submitted version before starting.
