Mom’s Pick Awards

Questions about Mom’s Pick Awards

Who may apply?

A brand, manufacturer or authorized representative may apply for a specific family-related product within the program's scope. The applicant must be able to supply accurate product information and supporting evidence and authorize use of the approved public details.

Is there an application deadline?

Applications are accepted throughout the year. There is no annual closing date. The year of recognition is determined by the authorized decision date, not by when the application was started.

Is entry free?

Yes. There is no application or review fee. A recognized product also receives the digital certificate, digital mark permission and NPF registry record free of charge.

Do I have to send a sample?

No. Applications and review are entirely online. Submit product information and supporting documents; do not ship a sample.

Which category should I choose?

Choose the category that best matches the product's main purpose. If the product spans several categories, explain its main use in the application. Category placement can be checked during intake; selecting a category does not change the criteria or guarantee recognition.

Can I submit more than one product?

Yes. Submit each distinct product or version with information that identifies it clearly. Do not combine unrelated products under one model simply because they share a brand.

Does submitting guarantee an award?

No. An application receipt confirms that the submission was received. Recognition requires a completed assessment and an authorized award decision.

Evidence and review

What information should I prepare?

Prepare the exact product name, brand, model or version, intended use and users, product images, current labels and instructions, relevant warnings and evidence for claims that need support. The document guide distinguishes common requirements from evidence needed for a particular product.

Does every product need the same certificates?

No. Required evidence depends on the product, its claims and applicable requirements. A document relevant to a children's product, a food-contact item or an app may not be relevant to a book. Do not substitute a general company certificate for evidence concerning the submitted model.

Are my supporting documents published?

No. Supporting evidence, applicant contacts and review correspondence remain private. The public record uses approved product identity, scope and status information; it is not a publication of the entire application.

When does the two-month review period begin?

It begins when the required materials are confirmed complete and accepted for review. Starting a form or receiving an initial submission receipt does not establish that the application is complete. The confirmation identifies the expected review timing.

Is “about two months” a guaranteed decision date?

No. It is an estimate of two calendar months. The application may require clarification or additional evidence. If timing changes, the applicant is told what is needed and given an updated estimate rather than left to assume the original date still applies.

What happens if more information is needed?

The request identifies the item to clarify or supply. Respond through application access so the material stays with the correct application. Time waiting for necessary information may affect the expected decision date; the record explains that effect.

Does NPF test the product itself?

No. This program reviews submitted information and supporting documents. It does not involve samples, home trials or laboratory tests conducted by NPF. An applicant may provide relevant reports as evidence, but those reports must match the product and the claim being considered.

Decisions

How will I receive the result?

The decision is made available to the authorized applicant contact through the application service. An awarded product receives instructions for free digital benefits and its public record. A product that is not recognized is not published as an award recipient.

What if the product is not recognized?

Read the stated outcome and any explanation of an evidence or scope issue. If you believe a material fact was recorded incorrectly or the stated procedure was not followed, use the decision-review route. A physical purchase cannot change the decision.

Can I request a decision review?

Yes. An authorized applicant may request review of a factual or procedural error within 30 calendar days of the decision notice. Identify the specific error and relevant evidence. The request is free and does not guarantee a different outcome.

Which year appears if review crosses into a new year?

The year of the authorized award decision appears on the certificate and official record. State that same year when using the award mark. An application submitted in 2026 and recognized in 2027 receives a 2027 award. The year should not be changed later to match a new marketing year.

Free digital recognition

What do recognized products receive?

A free digital award certificate, permission to use the authorized digital award mark for the recorded product, and a free public NPF registry record.

Is there a recipient package or annual digital fee?

No. There is no required recipient package, digital licensing fee, registry charge or digital renewal fee.

How do I download my certificate and mark?

Verify the authorized contact email in recipient access, select the recognized product and open its files. If a sign-in link expires, request another. You do not need to buy anything to access the files.

Can I print the electronic certificate myself?

Yes. You may print the free PDF. An official produced and delivered paper certificate is an optional separate service.

How do I correct an inaccurate name or link?

Use the product-change and correction route. Identify the record, the field and the correct information. Approved corrections are free and may result in a replacement certificate issue.

Product scope and changes

Does the mark cover my whole brand?

No. It covers the exact recognized product and version. On a page featuring several products, place the mark with the recognized model or name that model clearly.

May I change the year in an award statement?

No. Keep the year of the decision. A later calendar year does not turn an earlier award into a new award.

What if I change materials, design, claims or functionality?

Report the change before transferring award wording or artwork to the revised product. A substantive change may require a new free application. The earlier award remains tied to the version that was reviewed.

Does buying labels authorize use on another product?

No. Physical labels reproduce the permitted artwork; they do not expand the recognized product scope.

Physical items

Do I have to purchase a trophy, certificate or labels?

No. They are optional. Declining to purchase does not affect recognition, digital downloads, mark permission or the NPF record.

How are prices set?

Request a quote for the item, quantity, specification and destination you need. The itemized quote states the currency, production and delivery charges, applicable taxes, validity period and estimated schedule.

Does requesting a quote place an order?

No. A request is an inquiry. You review the quote and proof before deciding whether to purchase under the stated arrangements.

Will canceling an order or receiving a refund change the award?

No. Physical order matters are separate from review and recognition.

What should I do if an item is damaged or incorrect?

Use the order reference, a description and relevant photographs to contact the order service. Keep the item and packaging until you receive instructions. Your award application is not the route for resolving fulfillment issues.

Records and parents

How can I check a certificate or award statement?

Enter the public reference in the verifier or follow the QR code to the official NPF record. Compare product name, brand, model or version, year and status.

Is the registry a medical or government certification?

No. The NPF Healthy Products Registry records product recognition through the program's document-based review. It is not a medical certificate, laboratory database or regulatory approval service.

What do Updated, Replaced and Withdrawn mean?

Updated indicates a corrected or clarified recorded detail. Replaced indicates a linked later record or certificate issue. Withdrawn means recognition is no longer active. Read the dated note and exact version rather than treating all statuses as current recognition.

What if no record is found?

Check that the reference has been copied correctly or search by product and brand. A lookup service error is different from a completed search with no match. If an award statement still cannot be reconciled with a record, report the specific discrepancy.

How do I report a problem?

Use the NPF concern form with the public reference or URL, the facts and a verifiable link where possible. Do not include a child's private or medical information.

Need individual help

Use application support for preparation or access questions, recipient guidance for free files and mark use, and order access for physical-item matters. Public product-record concerns are handled through NPF. These routes keep the request with the appropriate record.
